AC/DC: Two Sides to Every Glory: The Complete Biography

September 26, 2007
“Malcolm would always tell me, ‘Don’t tickle the guitar, hit the bugger!’” -Angus Young

Two Sides To Every Glory is Paul Stenning’s attempt to make “a fitting mark of respect to all that AC/DC have achieved and created.” Inasmuch as this book tells the AC/DC story, Stenning has succeeded. My problem with the book lies in two areas; the writing style and the lack of details.

Two Sides To Every Glory comes off like a very long press release. Stenning is clearly a huge and sincere fan of Australia's best and baddest and isn’t afraid to gush like a schoolgirl. Alan Clayson’s The Yardbirds and Run To The Hills, Mick Wall’s authorized Iron Maiden bio are much the same. I’m a fan of all three of these bands but the last thing I want to read is someone waxing amateur poetic and singing the praises of a band I already like.

Stenning relates the tale of AC/DC in a fairly thorough manner if your idea of thoro Ac dc biography.
