Talan memmott biography templates

Self Portrait(s) [as Other(s)] by Talan Memmott is a portrait and biography generator. This E-Lit work combines the portraits of over a dozen well-known painters with their biographies. The end result, however, is not a “self portrait,” but “selves” portraits with more than one subject. Dealing with identity and art-historical context, as well as identification. With over 120,000,000 possible combinations, the possibilities are endless.

This E-Lit example shows the importance behind both visual and verbal processes. Matching the biography with the portrait creates different visual possibilities and merges with Calvino’s explanation of the quality of visibility.
